Resumé
Maurizio, Kim & Godelieve are taxidermist from Rome, London & Brussels. Each one of them is working in the National Natural History Museum. They are invited to collaborate in Oostvaardersplassen. A rewilded reserve, where animals who doesn't exist anymore in the area, are set to live free.
It is an amazing and teasing discover for them and their stuffed animals: for one day they can feel the energy of the “alive” world together. But as the sun sets, the stuffed animals and their taxidermists go back to their Museums, all scattered across Europe.
Once back in their own city, each taxidermist isn’t able anymore to resume his normal life and to consider his stuffed animals as “dead”. So step by step, crazy and surreal situations push the taxidermists & the animals more & more out of their museum, towards encounters with everyday people.
Until the day, that in every museum an invitation to the annual european taxidermy competition arrives. For this occasion each one of them will again travel with their animal, this time to Brussels, the city in which Eurotaxidermy will occur.
The day of the competition the taxidermists from all Europe & their animals will be in fact the protagonists of an unexpected and surreal “eco-terrorism act”. The city will be filled by stuffed animals to inspire a change in the urban daily life.
But after their great adventure, the still bamboozled stuffed animals, will be set back by skilled hands in their cage, in their museum, in their city.
