After China entered OMC, the chinese government wanted Beijing to become the showcase of architecture in China of the future. Behind this front in construction, another story comes out. Artists, rock musicians, technoid lolitas, girls in bars, students, young emigrants invent their own way of life. In just a few years, China became the second economic power in the world. Interest in its culture grew as well. After Barcelona, Berlin, London, New York… Beijing became the new cultural eldorado. For others, the ones who resist the domination of appearance, the new world capital is the mirror of the people who live in; an individual community where the artist has to find his position in a liberal controlled system.
