Resumé
The transmedia project Confusion.today connects a feature movie, about the reception procedure in Switzerland of an ex-Guantanamo prisoner, with an interactive documentary platform uncovering real world facts on this topic.
Starting with the existing feature movie «Confusion» by Laurent Nègre, the spectator gets a dramatically entertaining story about one ex-detainee of the high security detention camp transferred to paradise Switzerland.
While the movie plays, descriptive keywords follow the curse of the playhead: skates, themes and tags connected to the main story are dynamically displayed as the action unfolds.
By clicking on a keyword, a related video fragment coming from the documentary platform is added to a personal playlist, without disturbing the playback of the main story.
At the end of the feature movie, the collected video clips in the playlist form a personal documentary feed that can be viewed.
The spectator now becomes active by searching for more content, discovering new facts and creating other relationships between existing contents. Just by intuitively connecting fragments together, he is generating his own story... that can be shared on the platform itself and on social media.
Confusion.today is an original fusion between a linear, closed story and a participative, interactive online platform.
