Short description

Pressure Cooker is about the meeting of six characters in a country house for the week-end. What should be a normal evening turns into a disaster, as everyone forget the pressure cooker and the fuse going off ! Here is this evening : three young trespassers were hanging in a garden when suddenly a gate opens and a car arrives. Helen, Paul and Camille hop off and enter the house. Another car arrives, and Philip introduces Eva to Paul. Six minutes later, Eva hits on Paul while Helen puts a knife into the tires of Philip’s car who’s wondering if Camille’prediction about killing someone tonight may be true. In the meanwhile the cat gets in the house for the sixth time as one young intruder can’t find his way out. How this will end? Pressure Cooker is a VR real time narrative. The story takes place in a 6 room house and a garden, entirely made of printed woodcut. It’s an immersive and interactive experiment, the user can go through different rooms by gazing the doors. He can follow several stories, but he can’t be aware of everything. Indeed the user can’t be everywhere, his room choices will bring him to a personal vision of Pressure Cooker.

Expectations

We hope to find some partners in order to make this project happen.

How innovative is the project

The project is innovative in its narration through the game play, as the user must choose the room where part of the story is running while it's impossible for him to be aware of all stories and events going on in the others rooms at the same time. At the utmost it would be a stop motion animation in stereoscopy, with the binaural audio offering an increased VR experience for giving a glimpse of what is going on elsewhere.
